  SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICER

            PENNY LUNDY

Greetings from JSMS Resource Officer Penny lundy.  I want to tell you a little bit about myself and extend an invitation to visit me in my office at JSMS anytime you have a question or concern about your young person's safety or learning experience.  I've been a Police Officer with the Kingsport Police Department since 1985.  I was on Patrol for 13 years and  was promoted to Criminal Investigations in 1998 where I specialized in Crimes Against Children.  I interviewed and was chosen for the School Resource Officer position at JSMS  in August 2007.  I want your young person to have a positive experience with Law Enforcement Officers and I strive to make that happen everyday.  I am very proactive in my education of tweens & teens in the dangers of drug abuse and keeping them safe while online.  It is extremely important that your young person is made aware of the laws that we as good citizens shall live by and  what the consequences are for breaking those laws.  Middle school is such an awesome time in your young person's life.   They are being equipped with life skills that will encourage and teach them how to be happy, healthy life long learners.   You as parents and guardians are the most important factor in this process.  Along with strong parental love, guidance and discipline, caring educators and lots of hard work on your students part,  they will become our future leaders and productive members of society.
