Kingsport City Schools Nutrition Services

School Nutrition Services (SNS) in the Kingsport City Schools serves school breakfast and lunch every school day in every school. The department's objective is to provide nutritious, well-balanced meals that help to prepare students for learning and academic achievement in the classroom.  Students who skip meals or fail to make healthy food choices are at-risk for poor learning habits and potential health problems.

Students, teachers, parents, and the entire community benefit from successful nutrition programs. The relationship between proper nutrition, physical activity, and the development of young minds and bodies enhances the opportunity for life-long learning and good health.

The SNS team includes managers, workers, warehouse staff, and office assistants who plan, produce, deliver, and serve over 5,000 school meals, including breakfast, lunch, snacks, and meal equivalents, on an average school day.

This web site is designed to serve as an important communication tool for the school community.  We are interested in your comments and suggestions for improvement in the services we provide for students and staff. Questions or concerns regarding the School Nutrition Services Department can be emailed to SNS Director Jennifer Burleson at jburleson@k12k.com
